Faster Pizza Packaging for UK Customer

A UK-ready meals provider came to Jacob White Packaging Machines with a growing need for a faster, more effective solution for frozen pizza packaging. Find out how closely we work with our clients to build packaging machines that suit their needs and requirements in this case study.

Working closely with our clients

Whether you’re a new client or we’ve worked with you before, the Jacob White team takes pride in every client relationship we build. This is how we learn to understand the way you work, your products and current packaging processes, and what you need to improve and streamline your operations.

We worked with one of the UK's largest food-producing groups, a company providing ready meals, desserts, and pizzas. They came to us with a specific need to find a faster solution to the packaging of 6” and 12” pizzas – one that was competitively priced and flexible in terms of size and speed variations.

Hygiene and compliance in food packaging

As in all food packaging scenarios, health and hygiene standards are of the utmost importance. Regulations differ around the world and tailoring is often required to ensure mandatory standards are met seamlessly.

As global providers, we understand the importance of getting compliance right and the close relationships we have built over many decades mean that our clients are reassured that they meet the necessary local or regional compliance requirements, wherever they are in the world.

Returning UK customers

Jacob White already understood the practices and processes of this client, a returning customer with six of our packaging machines already in place and working within their business operations.

Armed with prior knowledge of their current systems, and fully satisfied with compliance, we were able to immediately recommend the additional machine; a semi-automatic solution that we knew would meet their requirements and complement the models already in place.

RSB-3 semi-automatic packaging machine

The RSB-3 was the ideal choice for our returning client, ensuring the product is hygienically packed, meeting safety standards, and delivering a completely compliant product.

We tailored their solution to ensure fast and consistent packaging for both 6” and 12” pizzas with minimal downtime due to the unique ‘no parts changeover’ system we use in all our machines. This also means that operator training is kept to a minimum and the likelihood of breakdown due to human error is significantly reduced.

Reliable maintenance, parts, and service was an absolute must for our client, and we provide this too, to avoid downtime in their busy environment.

The RSB-3 packaging machine offers an approach that enhances quality control with operator loading, enabling manual product placement, but automatic sealing with hot or cold glue applicators.

Cartons are automatically discharged from the RSB-3 packaging machine, reducing the human contact that manual packaging inevitably has. Overall, it is an easy-to-use packaging machine that speeds output and increases consistency, while handling relatively delicate food products.
